How It Works

A complete cycle from setup to insight

One platform. Four steps. Zero friction for instructors.

01

Connect

One-click ingestion of your entire course

SHULA plugs into Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard via LTI 1.3 and pulls in every lecture, PDF, slide deck, and exam. No manual uploads, no copy-paste, no consultants.

  • Native LTI 1.3 + Deep Linking
  • Automatic sync of new materials
  • SSO and roster sync out of the box
02

Configure

You decide how SHULA teaches

Instructors set pedagogical tone, off-topic boundaries, and exam-mode rules — per course, per chapter, per assignment. Defaults are sensible; control is total.

  • Direct, Hint-First, or Socratic modes
  • Granular content rules per course
  • Exam mode locks down solution sharing

What is v₀ in this equation?
It's the initial velocity — the speed at t = 0.

Plot of v(t) = v₀ + at — a straight line.

v₀tv

Slope = a (acceleration). At t=0, v = v₀.

Students get tutoring grounded in the course

Every answer cites the exact source — page number, video timestamp, problem set. No hallucinations, no off-curriculum drift, no shortcuts around what you actually taught.

  • 100% grounded in your material
  • Video timestamps and page citations
  • Math precision via a dedicated solver

Real-time signals on what students master

See exactly which concepts land, which break down, and which students need intervention before midterms. Insights flow back to instructors as actionable summaries.

  • Concept-level mastery tracking
  • At-risk student early warnings
  • Weekly auto-summaries for faculty
Data Protection

Built to protect teachers, students, and their material.

SHULA processes your course content locally to your institution and never uses teacher material to train large language models. No scraping, no silent reuse, no IP leakage — just a tutor that answers from your curriculum and nothing else.

Your data stays yours

Course material, student questions, and instructor content are processed in an isolated environment dedicated to your institution. We never share data across customers.

Never used to train LLMs

SHULA contractually and technically prohibits using your content to train any foundation model. Teacher materials are never fed back into model training pipelines — yours or anyone else's.

Processed locally to your region

Data is processed within your institution's region and stored in encrypted, access-controlled storage. Inference runs against your scoped corpus only — no external lookups.

Teachers own their IP

Lectures, slides, exams, and notes remain the intellectual property of the instructor and institution. SHULA acts as a custodian — not a data broker.

Zero training. Zero leakage. Zero surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know

Questions we hear from deans, instructors, and IT teams during demos.

SHULA uses a retrieval-augmented architecture: every answer is constrained to a vector index of your approved course material. The language model only generates responses based on chunks retrieved from your lectures, PDFs, and exams — never from its general training data. Mathematical operations are handed off to a dedicated computation engine, not the LLM. Every claim includes a clickable citation linking back to the source — so students and instructors can verify the origin of every answer in seconds.
For institutions that already run Moodle (or another LTI 1.3-compliant LMS), setup takes under an hour. An IT administrator installs SHULA as an External Tool in the LMS, configures the LTI Advantage credentials, and SHULA automatically appears as a tab inside the relevant courses. No content migration, no per-course configuration, no instructor training required. Most institutions complete a pilot within a single afternoon.
Data stays inside your institution's regional tenant and is encrypted at rest and in transit. Inference runs only against the scoped corpus your instructors define — there are no external lookups, no third-party data sharing, and no model training on student conversations. SHULA is built to comply with GDPR, FERPA, and Israeli Privacy Law (Tikkun 13). For institutions with stricter requirements, a self-hosted deployment is available.
Moodle is fully supported today via LTI 1.3 Advantage with Deep Linking. Canvas and Blackboard integrations are in active development and ship in Q2 2026. Any LMS that supports the LTI 1.3 standard can integrate SHULA — we'll confirm compatibility during your demo. For non-LTI environments, we offer a REST API and embeddable widget for custom integrations.
Yes — full control sits with the instructor. You define which materials SHULA can reference, choose between three pedagogical modes (Direct answers, Hint-First guidance, or Socratic questioning), and set rules per chapter or assignment. You can also enable exam mode, which restricts SHULA to procedural hints only — no solutions revealed. SHULA never overrides the instructor's choices.
Yes. SHULA supports Hebrew, English, and Arabic today, with course material ingestion and student conversations working in each language natively. Mixed-language courses (e.g. Hebrew lecture notes with English textbook excerpts) are handled automatically. Additional language support — including French, Spanish, and German — is on the 2026 roadmap.
